Privacy notice
Last updated 31 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information Film Finance Exchange collects through filmfinancex.com and the Incentive Readiness Scorecard, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Film Finance Exchange runs filmfinancex.com and is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us about privacy at [email protected].
What we collect
When you take the scorecard and join early access
- Your email address, and your name if you give it.
- Your answers to the scorecard questions: how you choose territories, your role, typical budget, where your next project is, who helps you with incentives and what would help most.
- Whether you ticked the newsletter box.
When you use the website
- We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
- Your shortlist is saved in your own browser so it is there when you return. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.
- The members' area remembers that you have signed in until you close the browser tab.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website, processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. Fonts come from Google Fonts, and map data in the members' area comes from jsDelivr; each receives your IP address when your browser loads them.
How we use it
- Your score and early access: to show your score and send you early-access invitations and launch updates, because you asked for them by taking the scorecard. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to your request. You can opt out at any time.
- Your answers: to understand what producers need, to plan the product and to decide who to invite to early access first. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in developing Film Finance Exchange. We report only combined totals, never individual answers.
- Newsletter: only if you ticked the newsletter box. Our legal basis is your consent. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information or share it with anyone for their own marketing. We use these service providers, who handle it on our behalf and only under our instructions:
- Tally, which runs the scorecard and stores your answers.
- Substack, which sends our newsletter, and only to people who ticked the newsletter box.
- Zoho, which provides our email.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised by UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
We keep scorecard and early-access details until 12 months after Film Finance Exchange launches, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your personal information;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- stop or limit how we use it;
- send it to you or another organisation in a reusable format.
You can withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
